Trauma Education Video Series: Understanding Our Response to Trauma (Part 1)

All human beings respond to traumatic experiences with the same set of strategies — activating responses, like flight and fight, and paralyzing responses, like freeze and collapse-submit. When a person experiences trauma, their body and mind use this set of strategies to respond the best way possible at the time of the trauma. We hope that this video can help you grow compassion for all the ways your body and mind, or those of someone you care about, adapted in order to survive.
